Directions & parking facilities

Attention: Traffic restrictions on June 4 due to the RUN company run

On Tuesday, June 4, the RUN company run will take place in Erfurt city center! Therefore there will be traffic restrictions around the Domplatz from 17:00 to 21:00.

Please note the following information:

  • There will be closures and detour around Domplatz and the adjacent streets.
  • Streetcar services may also be affected during this period.
  • The parking lots at Domplatz, Predigerstraße, Rathaus and Theaterplatz cannot be used during the event.

It is best to plan a little more time and use the routes or parking options below.

June 4 | MORNING

From the A71 (from the south/north - Schweinfurt or Sangerhausen):
  • Exit Erfurt-Bindersleben.
  • Follow the signs to Erfurt-Zentrum.
  • Then follow the signs to egapark.


Parking facilities:

  • Parking spaces are available at the main entrance to the egapark.
  • At the Erfurter Kreuz junction, change to the A71 towards Sangerhausen.
  • Take the Erfurt-Bindersleben exit.
  • Follow the signs to Erfurt-Zentrum.
  • Then follow the signs to egapark.


Parking facilities:

  • Parking spaces are available at the main entrance to the egapark.
  • At the Erfurter Kreuz junction, change to the A71 towards Sangerhausen.
  • Take the Erfurt-Bindersleben exit.
  • Follow the signs to Erfurt-Zentrum.
  • Then follow the signs to egapark.


Parking facilities:

  • Parking spaces are available at the main entrance to the egapark.
  • Follow the B4 to Gothaer Platz, then in the direction of egapark.


Parking facilities:

  • Parking spaces are available at the main entrance to the egapark.
  • Take streetcar line 2 in the direction of P+R Messe to the egapark stop.
  • Alternatively, take streetcar line 4 to the Gothaer Platz/Gartenbaumuseum stop. From there it is about 300 m on foot to the museum.

June 4 | AFTERNOON

From the A71 (from the south/north - Schweinfurt or Sangerhausen):
  • Exit Erfurt-Bindersleben.
  • Continue towards the center of Erfurt.
  • Follow the signs to Domplatz/Petersberg.


Parking facilities:

  • Depending on the closures on the day of the event: Parking garage Anger 1, Forum 1, P+R Hauptfriedhof (line 4 to Bundesarbeitsgericht) or P+R Binderslebener Knie.
  • At the Erfurter Kreuz junction, take the exit onto the A71 towards Sangerhausen
  • Exit Erfurt-Bindersleben.
  • Change to the B7 in the direction of Erfurt-Zentrum.
  • Follow the signs to Domplatz/Petersberg.


Parking facilities:

  • Depending on the closures on the day of the event: Use parking garage Anger 1, Forum 1, P+R Hauptfriedhof (line 4 to Bundesarbeitsgericht) or P+R Binderslebener Knie.
  • Exit Erfurt-Ost.
  • Then follow the B7 towards the city center.


Parking facilities:

  • Destination: Petersberg/Domplatz, if necessary use parking garage Anger 1 or main station.
  • Follow the B4 to Binderslebener Knie, then head towards the cathedral.


Parking facilities:

  • Parking at P+R Binderslebener Knie.
  • Anger 1: approx. 15 min. on foot
  • Forum 1: approx. 12 min. on foot
  • Parking garage main station: approx. 20 min. on foot
  • P+R Binderslebener Knie: approx. 10 min. on foot
  • P+R Messe: Line 2 to Domplatz
  • P+R Hauptfriedhof: Line 4 to the Hauptfriedhof


Ascent to Petersberg:
Either on foot via the Panoramaweg or comfortably with the Panorama elevator (from Zitadellenweg).

  • Domplatz Nord:
    Tram line 3 or 6 (approx. 5 min ride)
    → approx. 5-10 min walk to the Petersberg staircase
  • Bus route 90 also serves the Domplatz Nord stop.
  • Ascent to Petersberg:
    Either on foot via the Panoramaweg or comfortably with the Panorama elevator (from Zitadellenweg).

Please note: Due to the Thuringian Company Run, there will be traffic restrictions around the Domplatz between 6 and 9 pm.

June 5 | INTERNATIONAL DAY

From the A71 (from the south/north - Schweinfurt or Sangerhausen):
  • Exit Erfurt-Bindersleben.
  • Then continue towards the center of Erfurt.
  • Follow the signs to Domplatz/Petersberg.


Parking facilities:

  • Parking garage Domplatz, parking garage Anger 1, Forum 1, P+R Hauptfriedhof (line 4 to Federal Labor Court) or P+R Binderslebener Knie
  • Erfurter Kreuz exit onto the A71 in the direction of Sangerhausen.
  • Exit Erfurt-Bindersleben.
  • Take the B7 in the direction of Erfurt-Zentrum.
  • Follow the signs to Domplatz/Petersberg.


Parking facilities:

  • Parking garage Domplatz, parking garage Anger 1, Forum 1, P+R Hauptfriedhof (line 4 to Federal Labor Court) or P+R Binderslebener Knie
  • Exit Erfurt-Ost
  • Then follow the B7 towards the city center.
