10 times Investor Days Thuringia – that means 10 times innovations, investments and community.
Since its launch in 2016, #IDT has become one of the largest startup events in Central Germany. A total of around 400 startups and growth companies from all over Europe, North and South America, Asia and – in the 10th edition – South Africa took the opportunity to present their innovations on the pitch stage.
Innovative business models that are mastering the energy transition, advancing digitalization or revolutionizing the labour market: Start-ups were on stage at the #IDT, offering solutions to the social, ecological and economic challenges of our time with their innovations.
For the 10th time, the Investor Days Thuringia brought together innovators – people with outstanding solutions and great passion – in Thuringia.
South Africa was the official partner country of Investor Days Thuringia – Edition X. The #IDTX offered the opportunity to get to know South African talents and innovations, exchange knowledge and initiate collaborations.
The country is one of the top 3 most powerful economies and top locations for innovative developments on the continent. The Business Confidence Index rose for the third time in a row (Bureau for Economic Research).
With Cape Town, South Africa has one of the most innovative tech capitals in the world. The city is a hotspot for healthtech & fintech, digital and IT innovations, green tech, AI, IoT, connectivity & infrastructure, as well as cloud computing & cybersecurity.
The South African startup community is dynamic, diverse and has emerging markets, entrepreneurial talent and exciting investment opportunities.

The Investor Days Thuringia bring startups and the innovation community together in Erfurt. The event offers a broad spectrum of future technologies and innovative business models, an early and later phase pitch stage as well as numerous networking opportunities with over 500 regional, national and international stakeholders from the innovation ecosystem, startups, growth companies, VCs, SMEs and industry.
The event provides plenty of space for discussions, experience sharing, inspiration and networking and offers the ideal conditions for promising matches and the best deal flow.
From now until April 27, startups and growth companies can apply for a slot on the pitch stage. Upon acceptance, the founders will receive pitch training, a booth in the Innovation Arena and free access to the event. Selected growth companies will receive individual pitch training and will be allowed to present themselves exclusively in the Erfurt Gartenbau Museum and receive free access to the all-day event. Participating investors will receive exclusive information in the form of clear one-pagers about the presenting companies. VC investors, business angels, SMEs, networkers and innovators can secure their tickets at the Early Bird price until April 4, 2025.
